You likely know this by now, but if you are taking PLAVIX, stop taking Nexium and Prilosec immediately and contact your doctor.

The Food and Drug Administration warned in November that patients taking the blood-thinning drug Plavix should avoid taking the acid reflux medications Prilosec and Nexium because they can interfere with Plavix's activity, making it less effective. Plavix helps prevent the formation of blood clots, often in patients who have heart stents placed.
