What do these awards mean?

  • We believe that a trusting, open and respectful patient-physician relationship is at the center of the wellness and healing process. The winners of the Best Patient Satisfaction award were determined by reviewing patient surveys of their doctors. THIPA patients are encouraged to complete a satisfaction survey after their doctor visit.
  • We also believe that patients should be able to have easy access to their doctor without stressful delays. The physicians who won the Best Access Award distinguished themselves by the ease with which patients could make appointments.
  • Generic medicines contain the same drug as brand medicines do, work just as well, but usually cost significantly less. The physicians who won the Best Generic Prescriber award are those doctors who were the most sensitive to this fact and passed on the savings to their patients by prescribing generic instead of brand medications.

If your doctor is not listed, please know that in 2009, not all THIPA physicians participated in the surveys. In 2010, all THIPA providers will be included in the surveys. You see that your opinion counts, so please respond to our surveys to improve the care you receive!
